It's that time of year again when we round up our staff and make them spill the beans on their favorite lights of the year. We found a wide variety of lights being picked, everything from hand held searchlights to convenient micro-lights. We asked everyone why they chose the way they did and got some interesting answers about style, performance and how they use the lights in their everyday lives. Looking for a tried and tested LED flashlight for yourself? Just take a look at what the flashlight experts are raving about.

Sunwayman G25C - Sean

When I think about power, performance and reliability only one light comes out on top every time, the Sunwayman G25C. This thing is one of our best selling lights of all time and for a good reason, it's compact, easy to use and has that top end 1000 lumen output that everyone is looking for in their EDC light. I use my light for everything from taking out the trash to letting my dog out, but I also know that if I need to defend myself the strobe will take out any would-be assailant. Think you're gonna catch me without my EDC on hand? Not today bro.

Jetbeam C8 - Andrew

The Jetbeam C8 is everything that is great about flashlights. Not only is it easy to carry and use, it comes with both a battery and a charging cord so you don't need to worry about picking those things up separately. It's just a good deal! I've used my C8 to find a circuit breaker after a power outage, to check outside when I hear a spooky noise - pretty much whenever I need a quick and powerful light.

Olight S30R - Giselle

I picked the S30R because I know it's one of the lights that our customers (and I) have enjoyed the most. My favorite part of the S30R is that it comes with the USB charging dock that I just leave on my desk and slap the light on when it needs to charge - so easy! It also comes with the battery, which is nice, and since it comes with all of the accessories it makes for a good gift. On top of all that, it's one of the most competitively priced higher end lights, especially when you consider all of the great stuff it comes with!

Terralux LightStar 220 - Este

I look for a few important things in a flashlight: power, durability, affordability and sustainability. The Terralux Lightstar 220 has all of these features in spades, and is a great pickup for yourself, friends or for family. I really like that it runs on AA batteries since you can find them anywhere, so for emergencies the Lightstar is perfect. It's made of aluminum so it's surprisingly lightweight and easy to carry around in a purse or a pocket. Anyone searching for a low cost, high efficiency LED light should seriously consider one of these.

Nitecore MT20A - Tim

The MT20A is a lifesaver! I've had my light for a while now and I use it everyday. It's lightweight, takes AA batteries and has plenty of modes for whatever I need; what more could you ask for? I especially like that I can quickly get to any mode with the side switches; it makes choosing light levels or special modes really easy. Since this light is a Nitecore I know that it's built to last, and it hasn't failed me yet!

Olight SR Mini - Carli

This flashlight is bonkers! 2800 Lumens in this tiny thing? Crazy! The SR Mini is just what I need in a flashlight, tons of power! Whenever I need to walk the dogs at night, this light gives me the perfect combination of portability and lighting power for the job. With all of that power packed into 3 LEDs, I know that however much light I need, it's available at the push of a button!

Titanium Innovations Illuminati - Jeff

My pick for staff favorites is the Titanium Innovations Illuminati. I love the radical titanium finish - it keeps my EDC setup looking fresh and stylish and the CREE XP-G LED provides me with 132 lumens of lighting power. This bright titanium light is more than just a conversation piece; I use it everyday when I'm going to my car, doing evening chores or looking through cabinets. If you'd like a bright EDC with a sleek futuristic style, the Illuminati is just what you're looking for.

Inova Microlight Red - Nathan

When they asked me to pick out my favorite light of 2015, I knew that there was only one answer: The Inova Microlight in red. It's pocket sized, bright as heck and comes with a strong stainless steel clip that I attach to my keychain so I don't have to worry about it. The Microlight has a bunch of lighting modes and runs on a coin cell battery keeping it compact and more importantly, affordable. You don't have to turn on the red light, but you probably should.
